Camotes Islands
A large freshwater lake in the middle of Pacijan, paddled rather than swum
Lake Danao covers a broad basin in the interior of Pacijan and is the largest lake in the province, shaped roughly like a figure of eight and fringed with mangrove and reed.
A park runs along one shore with kayaks and paddle boats for hire, a zipline across one arm and picnic shelters under the trees. It is a calm, green counterpoint to the beaches, and the birdlife around the margins is good early in the day.
In the centre of Pacijan Island, about twenty-five minutes by scooter or tricycle from Santiago Bay.
