Cookies

Last updated

CebuFest sets 2 cookies. Each one remembers a choice you made, and neither is used to identify or track you. We set no analytics and no advertising cookies.

What we set

cebufest-theme
Remembers whether you chose the light or the dark colour scheme, so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit.
Set: When you press the light/dark toggle in the header.
Lasts: 1 year
cebufest-trip
Holds the list of places you have added to your trip, so your selection survives moving between pages. It is a list of published place identifiers and nothing else.
Set: When you add or remove a place from your trip.
Lasts: 7 days, restarted each time you change your selection

Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner exists to ask permission for cookies that are not needed to provide what you asked for — analytics, advertising, and anything that follows you between sites. CebuFest sets none of those, so there is nothing to ask you about.

Both cookies above are functional: each stores a decision you made yourself, neither contains an identifier, and neither is written until you act. Nothing is set merely by arriving on a page.

If that ever changes — if we add analytics, for example — you will be asked first, and this page will be updated before anything new is set.

How to remove them

Every browser can clear cookies for a single site, usually under settings for privacy, site data or site permissions. Clearing CebuFest’s cookies erases everything the site holds about your visit, without needing to ask us.

Doing so has two visible effects:

  • The colour scheme goes back to following your device’s light-or-dark setting.
  • Your trip selection empties, and any places you had added are forgotten.

Nothing else breaks — the whole site works with cookies blocked, you will simply have to make those choices again on each visit. A trip plan you have already generated keeps working, because the plan is in its own link rather than in a cookie.

Cookies from other companies

We do not let anyone else set a cookie on CebuFest. There is no advertising network, no embedded social widget and no third-party analytics on any page.

Booking partners are different, but only once you leave: if you follow a Check availability link, the partner’s own site may set its own cookies under its own policy. That is described in our affiliate disclosure.
