About This Place
Caohagan is a few hectares of sand and palms with a village of several hundred people on it, in the Olango group south-east of Mactan. A sandbar runs off one end and the reef around it is shallow and calm.
Two things make it a stop rather than a passing view: the lunch, which is fish and shellfish bought off the boats and grilled on the beach, and the appliqué quilts the women of the island have made and sold for decades.
