Samboan
A climbable multi-tier waterfall in Samboan, ascended rather than viewed
Aguinid is not a waterfall you stand in front of. Guides take groups up it, level by level, through pools and along ledges cut into calcium-white rock, with hand and footholds carved where the climb needs them.
There are five main levels; most groups do the first three and stronger ones continue. The rock is travertine, which is what gives both the water and the walls their pale, chalky colour.
Guides are mandatory and are drawn from the barangay, which is the arrangement that keeps the site maintained.
Bus from Cebu South Bus Terminal toward Bato via Oslob or Barili to Samboan, then a habal-habal to the Tangbo registration hut.
