Santander

Santander is the third smallest town in Cebu and located in southernmost part of Cebu . It is also popular in tourist destination because of the ideal spot for diving and marine sanctuary which is best for snorkeling. Other parts of the place are hilly to mountains which is good for cultivation of crops and a forestry. Church of Santander serves for a religious veneration which means a symbol of its people’s awakening .The place has its coastal areas, having gentle slopes which are appropriate for agricultural and industrial purposes. Santander was popularly known as Tañong,which derived from the Tañon Strait and its turbulent waters continuously rush unto its shores. However, when the Spanairds came over the town’s first parish priest changed its name into Santander, the priest hometown in the northern coast of Spain and is considered a chief port and famous bathing resort. They also celebrate the town’s fiesta in honor of St. Gabriel the Archangel ,their patron, which was held in the month of April and the name of their festival was Tostado Festival. Travel Directions: Santander is accessible either land and sea but if you wish to ride a bus, go to South bus terminal and choose a V-hire or a ceres bus to the town of Santander.
